Word from the Ambassador

Ladies and Gentlemen,

May the peace, blessings, and mercy of God be upon you,

I am pleased to welcome all of you, and to communicate with you through the website of the Embassy of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Djibouti.

Diplomatic relations between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Djibouti have witnessed remarkable development in the past years, specifically since the exchange of diplomatic representation between the two countries  and the opening of the embassy of the State of Qatar in Djibouti in December 2005. This was achieved thanks to the efforts of the ambassadors who preceded me in performing their duty at the embassy and who provided the necessary care and provision of the best services to the Qatari sisters and brothers.

Commissioned by H.H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of the State of Qatar, I came to Djibouti to work diligently and actively and to represent my country’s government, in order to strengthen bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries and the two brotherly peoples. My full hope is that the relations between Qatar and Djibouti will develop and witness a new dynamic in the next stage, in a way that serves the common interests of the two countries and satisfies H.H the Emir of the State of Qatar and H.E Ismail Omar Guelleh, President of the Republic of Djibouti.

I will also be careful to provide appropriate care and good services to the Qatari citizen, as this is considered one of the highest goals for which the embassy and its website were established. I will also be keen to develop the embassy’s website.  

This website was created to introduce the mission and the various services that it provides to beneficiaries. It includes general information about the Republic of Djibouti, its political system, information about the economy and the investment in Djibouti, guidance on travel and tourism, the most important tourist and recreational areas, and some advice related to living in Djibouti. The website also monitors the mission's activities.

During the period of my work in Djibouti, I will spare no effort to enhance cooperation and partnership between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Djibouti in various fields, whether through this website or other platforms.

Finally, I can only extend my thanks and gratitude to H.E Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and to all employees of the Ministry for the great efforts they are making to raise the efficiency of Qatari missions, achieve the desired goals and raise the flag of the State of Qatar in all international forums.
