Location: Djibouti is located in the north eastern part of the horn of Africa at the junction between the red sea and the Gulf of Aden. It is bordered by Eritrea in the north, Ethiopia in the west and and Somalia in the south. Its coastline extends to 370 kilometers and is home to the narrow Gulf of Tadjoura. Its north coast is in close proximity to Eritrea along Bab El Mandab strait, bordering the south west tip of Yemen. Djibouti the capital lies on the southern coast of the Gulf and it is the main port of the country.

Climate: Hot and humid throughout the year. Humidity peak is in May and September. Temperature usually surpasses 40 degrees Celsius in the period from May to October, while it ranges from 30 to 34 degrees in the period from November to April.
